POWER IP

We pride ourselves in designing new and innovative IC products, each time again achieving customization and optimization of performance. We do full-custom design ‘from scratch’ when needed, relying on extensive experience. In addition, we consider selecting blocks for reuse from our portfolio of IP in several technologies. Our strategy is to offer IP on various platforms and selected technology nodes that are often preferred by our customers.

With application of our IP we offer the following benefits compared to full custom design:

• Reduced development time
• Reduced risk (proven silicon)
• Known performance, area, current consumption, testibility
• Compliant with our design flows

Our license model is flexible and can be a combination of fixed fee and/or royalties. It is our experience that IC products often can be made with a combination of existing IP and full-custom design. This trend will continue under pressure of short time-to-market targets. Still a certain amount of full-custom design or IP customization is needed to realize improved performance and smaller chip area in each new IC generation. Customization of the IP can be covered in the development NRE, of course at a lower cost than a completely full-custom design. To guarantee successful integration application of our IP is not a simple copy-paste action but a carefully considered and verified action.
